Multiconnector M1

a 40-channel multi-connector with FFC, pin-header, and SMA interfaces.

Quantity

Overview

A passive interconnect board (type 1 / M1) that sits between the main XPOW/XDAC system and a device under test. It breaks out 40 channels to FFC connectors, 2.54 mm pin headers, and SMA connectors, with dedicated reconfiguration pins and per-channel/GND checkpoints, so the same board can be wired to suit different DUT connector types (FFC, pin header, or SMA) without modifying the main system.

Key Features

●     40 channels broken out across FFC connectors, 2.54 mm pin headers, and SMA connectors (CH1–CH16 at point M)

●     Six FFC connectors (points A–F, 20–50 pin) carrying the X and Y channel groups

●     Dedicated reconfiguration pin headers (points I–L) to remap channel/GND assignments

●     Ground checkpoints (2 pins, points N/O) and per-channel output checkpoints (point P, 1–40) for multimeter verification without disconnecting cabling

●     Direct pass-through connectors (points Q/R) to the main XPOW/XDAC system — factory pre-wired

●     Compact, passive PCB — no external power required beyond what passes through from the main system

●     Supports multiple simultaneous DUT connection types (FFC, pin header, and/or SMA) from a single board

Passive interconnect / reconfiguration PCB

Connector / Point Reference (Callouts A-R)

Callouts A–R correspond to the physical points on the M1 board used to configure connections to the DUT. Points A–H and M connect to the DUT; points I–L are the reconfiguration pins; points N and O are the GND checkpoints; point P is the channel output checkpoint; points Q and R connect to the main system.

Wiring Logic

●     Callouts C, G, and I (Y-side group) are connected to each other, and callouts D, H, and J (X-side group) are connected to each other. For example, pin Y1 at point C (FFC-4 50 pin) is connected to Y1 at point G (2x20-1 pin header) and Y1 at point I (2x20-3 pin header). Another example, pin X3 at point D (FFC-3 50 pin) is connected to X3 at point H (2x20-2 pin header) and point J (2x20-4 pin header).

●     Points Q and R connect to the main system and are pre-wired at the factory (GND and corresponding channel outputs already mapped).

●     Points K and L directly correspond to points Q and R, where the top row is GND and the bottom row (C1–C40) is channel outputs.

●     Factory default (with a cable attached across points I, J, K, and L): Y1–Y20 and X1–X20 = GND; Y21–Y40 = CH1–20 outputs; X21–X40 = CH21–40 outputs.

Basic Usage Example

Example 1 — SMA-input DUT

For a DUT with SMA inputs (e.g. 3 channels), connect directly to any available SMA connector on the board (CH1–CH16), since the SMA connectors (point M) are already wired through to the main system via points Q/R. Select the matching channel (CH1–CH16) in the control GUI.

Example 2 — Pin-header DUT

For a DUT with an 8-channel 2.54 mm pin-header input, in factory-default configuration, channels 1–8 can be wired directly from point G or H. Outputs are available as Y21–Y40 (point G) or X21–X40 (point H); GND is available at Y1–20 and X1–40.

Example 3 — Custom FFC remap

For a DUT with a 20-pin FFC input requiring a custom GND/channel layout (e.g. alternating GND and signal pins), connect the desired GND pins at point I to GND at point K, and the desired signal pins at point I to C1–C6 at point K, using jumper cables. Select the corresponding channel (CH1, CH2, …) in the control GUI.
