Multiconnector M5
A 120-channel multi-connector with D-sub and 2.54 mm pin-header interfaces.
Quantity
Overview
M5 multi-connector board is designed to accommodate 120 channels output from an Xpow-120AX box, 4 × 40AX, or XDAC. It has the same flexibility as other types of boards in the multi-connector family. The connectors on the M5 board are D-Sub25 and 2.54 mm pinout, so the same 120 channels can be accessed either through D-Sub connectors or through pin headers, with a CONF header available for remapping and a full checkpoint row for verification.
Key Features
● 120 channels broken out across ten D-Sub25 connectors (point A, 12 channels each)
● 6×40 pin header 2.54 mm (point B) carrying the full X1–X120 and Y1–Y120 channel set
● 6×40 pin header 2.54 mm together with a 6×20 CONF pin header (point C) for channel remapping (C1–C120)
● Channel output checkpoint row (point D, 1–120) for multimeter verification without disconnecting cabling
● Direct pass-through connectors (points E, F, and G) to the main system, split by channel range (81–120, 41–80, 1–40) — factory pre-wired
● Compact, passive PCB — no external power required beyond what passes through from the main system
● Supports multiple simultaneous DUT connection types (D-Sub25 and pin header) from a single board

Connector / Point Reference (Callouts A-G)
Callouts A–G correspond to the physical points on the M5 board used to configure connections to the DUT. Point A is the D-Sub25 connector bank; points B and C carry the same channels in 2.54 mm pin-header form, with point C also providing the CONF remapping header; point D is the channel output checkpoint; points E, F, and G connect to the main system, split by channel range.
Callout | Component Description |
A | 10x12 ch D-Sub 25 connector |
B | 6x40 pin header 2.54 mm (X1 – X120, Y1 – Y120) |
C | 6x40 pin header 2.54 mm (X1 – X120, Y1 – Y120) & CONF 6x20 pin header 2.54 mm (C1 – C120) |
D | Channel output check point 120 pin (1 - 120) |
E | 81 – 120 CH in pin header 2.54 mm (81 – 120) |
F | 41 – 80 CH in pin header 2.54 mm (41 – 80) |
G | 1 – 40 CH in pin header 2.54 mm (1 – 40) |
Wiring Logic
● Point A breaks out the 120 channels across ten D-Sub25 connectors, 12 channels per connector, giving direct DUT access without going through the pin headers.
● Point B mirrors the same X1–X120 and Y1–Y120 channel pins in 2.54 mm pin-header form for direct use or for probing alongside point A.
● Point C carries the same channel pins as point B together with the CONF 6x20 pin header (C1–C120), allowing the channel/GND assignment to be remapped away from factory default using jumper wire.
● Points E, F, and G connect to the main system and are pre-wired at the factory, each carrying one third of the 120 channels (81–120, 41–80, and 1–40 respectively), matched against the checkpoint row at point D.
Basic Usage Example
Example 1 — D-Sub25-input DUT
For a DUT with a D-Sub25 input (e.g. a 12-channel group), connect directly to any available D-Sub25 connector on the board (point A), since each connector is already wired through to the main system via points E/F/G. Select the matching channel (1–120) in the control GUI.
Example 2 — Pin-header DUT
For a DUT with a 2.54 mm pin-header input, in factory-default configuration, connect directly to point E, F, or G for the corresponding channel range (81–120, 41–80, or 1–40); GND and channel assignments follow the factory default unless reconfigured via the CONF header at point C.
Configuration Options
Configuration Option | Description |
Output connector | D-Sub25 (point A) or 2.54 mm pin header (points B/C) — both available simultaneously |
Reconfiguration | CONF 6x20 pin header at point C allows remapping of channel assignment away from factory default |
Verification | Channel output checkpoint (point D, 1–120) for multimeter probing |
