Multiconnector M7

A 40-channel multi-connector with SMA and 2.54 mm pin-header interfaces.

Quantity

Overview

A passive interconnect board (type 7 / M7) that sits between the main XPOW/XDAC system and a device under test. It breaks out 40 channels to both SMA connectors and 2.54 mm pin headers, with dedicated reconfiguration pins and per-channel/GND checkpoints, so the same board can be wired to suit different DUT connector types (SMA or pin header) without modifying the main system.

Key Features

  • 40 channels broken out to SMA connectors (CH1–CH40 across points A/B)

  • Dual output options per channel: SMA connector or 2.54 mm pin header

  • Dedicated reconfiguration pin headers (points E–H) to remap channel/GND assignments

  • Ground checkpoints (2 pins) and per-channel output checkpoints (CH 1–40) for multimeter verification without disconnecting cabling

  • Direct pass-through connectors (points L/M) to the main XPOW/XDAC system — factory pre-wired

  • Compact, passive PCB — no external power required beyond what passes through from the main system

  • Supports multiple simultaneous DUT connection types (SMA and/or pin header) from a single board

Connector / Point Reference (Callouts A-M)

Callouts A–M correspond to the physical points on the M7 board used to configure connections to the DUT. Points A–D connect to the DUT; points E–H are the reconfiguration pins; points I/J and K are checkpoints; points L/M connect to the main system.

Callout

Component Description

A

SMA connectors (Y21–Y40)

B

SMA connectors (X21–X40)

C

2×20-1 pin header, 2.54 mm (Y1–Y40)

D

2×20-2 pin header, 2.54 mm (X1–X40)

E

2×20-3 pin header, 2.54 mm (Y1–Y40)

F

2×20-4 pin header, 2.54 mm (X1–X40)

G

2×20-5 pin header, 2.54 mm ((C21–C40) + GND)

H

2×20-6 pin header, 2.54 mm ((C1–C20) + GND)

I

GND check point 1 (pin 41)

J

GND check point 2 (pin 42)

K

Channel 1–40 output check point pins (1–40)

L

CH 21–40 in 2×20-7 pin header, 2.54 mm

M

CH 1–20 in pin header, 2.54 mm

Wiring Logic

  • Callout C is wired to callout E; callout D is wired to callout F (e.g. pin Y1 at C = Y1 at E; pin X3 at D = X3 at F).

  • Callouts L and M connect to the main system and are pre-wired at the factory (GND and corresponding channel outputs already mapped).

  • Callouts G and H mirror L and M directly: top row = GND, bottom row (C1–C40) = channel outputs.

  • Factory default (cable attached across E, F, G, H): Y1–Y20 and X1–X20 = GND; Y21–Y40 = CH1–20 outputs; X21–X40 = CH21–40 outputs.

Basic Usage Example

Example 1 — SMA-input DUT

For a DUT with SMA inputs (e.g. 3 channels), connect directly to any available SMA connector on the board (CH1–CH40), since the SMA connectors are already wired through to the main system via points L/M. Select the matching channel (CH1–CH40) in the control GUI.

Example 2 — Pin-header DUT

For a DUT with an 8-channel 2.54 mm pin-header input, in factory-default configuration, channels 1–8 can be wired directly from point C or D. Outputs are available as Y21–Y40 (point C) or X21–X40 (point D); GND is available at Y1–20 and X1–40.

Configuration Options

Configuration Option

Description

Output connector

SMA (points A/B) or 2.54 mm pin header (points C/D) — both available simultaneously

Reconfiguration

Points E–H allow remapping of channel/GND assignment away from factory default

Verification

GND checkpoints (I/J) and per-channel checkpoints (K, 1–40) for multimeter probing
