Nicslab will participate as an exhibitor at Asia Photonics Expo (APE) 2026 in the Photonics × Semiconductor Innovation Zone, presenting our approach to building photonic systems that are precise, scalable, and engineered for real-world use. At Booth B611-F, we will showcase XDAC and XSOM, our photonic control platforms, together with new updates to Mini ATE, demonstrating how user-centric design and system-level thinking enable reliable photonic control and test solutions that move beyond laboratory demonstrations and into deployable technology.
What Is Asia Photonics Expo (APE) and Why It Matters
Asia Photonics Expo (APE) was created to address a growing need in the global photonics ecosystem: a dedicated platform where innovation, engineering, and commercialization converge. As photonics becomes foundational to data centers, artificial intelligence, advanced sensing, and next-generation computing, the industry is under increasing pressure to move beyond experimental success toward scalable, manufacturable systems. APE responds to this challenge by bringing together device developers, system integrators, semiconductor manufacturers, test solution providers, and end users, with a strong emphasis on complete systems—how they are built, validated, and deployed at scale.
By positioning photonics alongside semiconductors, APE reinforces a critical industry reality: the future of light-based technologies depends on system-level thinking, not isolated performance metrics. This philosophy closely aligns with Nicslab’s vision of precision-driven, user-centric photonic systems designed for real-world deployment. For Nicslab, APE 2026 is more than an exhibition—it is a platform to engage with partners and innovators who share the goal of turning photonics into infrastructure-ready technology.
Founder Spotlight: Andri Mahendra on Scaling User-Centric Photonics
As part of the APE 2026 conference program, Andri Mahendra, Founder of Nicslab Ops, Inc., will speak on the topic:
“Unlocking the Power of Light: Scaling User-Centric Photonics Innovation with Precision”
In this session, Andri will address a core challenge facing the photonics industry: scaling innovation without compromising usability, reliability, or engineering efficiency. Drawing on hands-on experience building photonic control and test platforms, he will argue that photonics reaches its real impact at scale—and that scale requires precision, usability, and systems thinking, not performance in isolation. The talk will challenge lab-first assumptions and focus instead on architectures and tools that engineers can confidently deploy, operate, and expand into infrastructure-ready technology for real products and real users.
In addition, Andri will share his personal journey from academic research and university-based innovation to building a commercial photonics company. He will discuss the practical and strategic shifts required to move from lab prototypes to deployable, infrastructure-ready technology—highlighting lessons learned in translating research into real products for real users.
